
Dr. Chris Pawelczyk currently serves Zion-Benton Township High School District 126 as the Executive Director of Community Engagement & Student Success. A lifelong educator with over 29 years of experience, Dr. Pawelczyk served as a teacher, athletic coach, and assistant principal in several districts before taking on the role of Principal at Zion-Benton High School for nine years. He is now in his fourth year as a central office administrator.
Dr. Pawelczyk earned a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a concentration in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a certificate in Secondary Education from Chicago State University, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Governors State University, and a doctorate in Urban Educational Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
An active member of the Illinois Beach Sunrise Rotary Club since 2013, Dr. Pawelczyk is also a past President of the organization. He and his wife, Lisa, have two children, Ella and Jacob.
