Social Norms Campaign

The Social Norms Campaign at ZBTHS aims to change students’ perception of how many Zee Bees actually use tobacco and alcohol. Since the program’s inception in 1999 – the tobacco number has changed from 75% of Zee-Bees are tobacco free to 96% of Zee-Bees are tobacco free!

Since the inception of the alcohol prevention program in 2004, ZBTHS has seen an increase in the number of students reporting they do not drink alcohol from 67% to 78% of Zee-Bees that are alcohol free!

This data comes from the Illinois Youth Survey, which is conducted every 2 years at ZBTHS. The Social Norms campaign uses posters, restroom newsletters, and promotional items for students and staff with the positive social norms messages.
