Sandra Usher began her career with Zion Township in 2012 and has grown within the organization, serving in multiple leadership roles including Administrative Assistant, Business Manager, and currently as Chief Operating Officer. As the Chief Operating Officer, Sandra ensure the day-to-day operations of Zion Township including HR, finances, accounting, IT, and marketing. Sandra also coordinates the Zion Quarterly magazine and is the lead for the annual Senior Resource Expo. A proud advocate for community empowerment, Sandra brings over a decade of dedication and service to the residents of Zion Township.
Sandra earned her Associate degree in Administrative Professional from the College of Lake County in 2017, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from North Park University in 2019. Her commitment to leadership and civic engagement extends beyond her professional role—she actively serves on several local committees including the Lake County Joy Summit, the Zinnia and Monarch Festival, and the Zion-Benton Leadership Academy. She also holds the position of Secretary for the Coalition for Healthy Communities.
Sandra’s work is driven by a deep belief in strengthening community connections and uplifting those around her. Her impact can be seen not only through her initiatives at the Township but also through her proudest accomplishment—raising three children who are all successful college graduates.
