Youth Prevention Education (YPE)
Prevention Services’ YPE program is a school-based curriculum for 5th and 6th grade students. The lessons in our “Healthy Decisions Life Skills” curriculum help students build healthy life skills such as goal-setting, decision-making, expressing feelings appropriately, self-control, strong communication, peer pressure resistance, and teamwork. Our staff guides students through discussions, small group work, class activities and self-reflection to help them understand the negative consequences – physical, social and legal – of using alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
Currently, Prevention Services facilitates the “Healthy Decisions Life Skills” curriculum in Zion School District #6.
